EXT. OUTSIDE OF THE SUBURBAN APARTMENT BUILDING. NEW YORK. MORNING.

<FADE IN>

The camera wanders the familiar New York skyline and turns slowly near the apartment building. Yellow taxi pulls in front of the building and a woman steps out to the curb. The woman pays the taxi driver and checks her hair while browsing through her purse. Shortly the taxi drives away and disappears in to the oncoming traffic. Woman sets her eyes at the apartment building and starts to walk into the vestibule.

INT. SUBURBAN APARTMENT 13Y. NEW YORK. MORNING.

Damon sits in the kitchen, pouring coffee to his favorite cup.
Suddenly two knocks can be heard. It's the front door. Damon takes his cup of coffee and opens the door.

DIALOGUE.

DAMON: Oh, Sandra. It's still so early, what's up?

SANDRA: Listen. About last night..

ACTION.

SANDRA notices the broken hall mirror and stops speaking for a moment. Damon looks at the pile of broken mirror pieces and gets worried.

DIALOGUE.

SANDRA: What the hell happened to your mirror?

DAMON: It's nothing, it..

SANDRA: Did you break it?

DAMON: No - I just happened to pull another version of me from a another reality.

ACTION.

SANDRA is taken off guard by Damon's response.

DIALOGUE.

DAMON: I'm kidding. It just fell over. Poorly attached. Shit happens, don't worry about it. Anyhow, what gives me the pleasure of seeing you two days in a row?

SANDRA: About last night.. be honest, was it a date?

ACTION.

Now Damon is taken off guard. Damon is silent for a moment, sips some coffee and starts mumbling.

DIALOGUE.

DAMON: No..yes..I don't know, Sandra. We're been friends for so long I have almost forgotten how we met. But if I have to confess, at first - I felt attracted to you. I have felt attracted to you ever since. You've always been special for me, why else would a straight male in his late 20's keep hovering around you?

SANDRA: I've always thought -

DAMON: It doesn't matter what we think, it only matters what we do, Sandra. We both know that we like each other. We can only stop talking for couple of weeks before we start to miss each other. We enjoy spending time together and it's easy to share a laugh. We both have our skepticism about true love and marriage, yet we are eager to throw ourselves into the cat & mouse game.

DAMON: Yet, we still can't confess a single word to each other.

SANDRA: So it was a date. You could have told me, Damon.

DAMON: It has never been my style to add pressure to things, Sandra. Things happen for a reason..and I guess for that same reason, we didn't happen. So let's just forget last night, alright?

ACTION.

Sandra leans forward and hugs Damon. Their eyes meet and a spontaneous kiss happens.

DIALOGUE.

SANDRA: It's never too late to take action, Damon. Take care.

ACTION.

Damon stands confused in the hall and Sandra leaves the room, closing the front door. Damon takes the last sip from the coffee cup and stares at the broken pile of mirror glass.

NARRATIVE. DAMON.

I'm sorry Damon. That was your dream speaking, not mine.
